We went Shopping...!

After his bath, in his jammies waiting for Daddy to come. Currently talking on the phone to no one, but we always pretend it is Granny.
Making sure he got all of the toys out.

Emptying out the entire box in a matter of seconds.

So today we headed into the city to visit Michelle. I didn't bring a stroller, and terrible mom alert, no food for Ethan. We had planned to do a little shopping (of course I had no intention on buying anything....). Anyways we decided we better do lunch first, so we went to this wonderful restaurant called 'Cora's'. It is always SO busy so we figured it might be a good day. It was still jammed packed but the food looked delicious. Since it was so busy everything was a little slow, which doesn't always work well with Ethan. He had a major screaming meltdown. All the waitresses tried to sooth him, bringing Balloons, banana's etc. Finally, he though the bananas made him happy and calmed down. There was a little girl that was there just as we were getting there who was having a hysterical crying fit, both Michelle and I looked at her like 'Oh my gosh". and I remember thinking 'thankfully Ethan doesn't do that'. Well as soon as I thought it, off he goes, crying hysterically, then got himself in such a tiff that he smashed his mouth on the table, which lead to more crying. Anyways after the crying stopped he stuffed his face with lots of fruit and two pieces of french toast. Delicious.
First stop on our shopping journey was the Super Walmart. I needed baby clothes hangers, I had run out. So mission accomplished. Next stop, Home Sense. I bought nothing but Michelle bought a very cute little photo album. We stopped in at Winners because I had seen a snowsuit I liked there at a different Winners. They didn't have it. Darn. So we hit up Once Upon a Child. I bought Ethan some snowboots. They were BRAND new and perfect. On our shopping tour we spotted a new bubble tea shop so we thought we'd better try it out before heading home. I quite enjoyed mine!
Ethan slept the entire way home, there was a cement truck blocking my driving way, so pretending like I didn't care I parked up the road (but really it quite pissed me off). I had to trek all the way down the road with bags and Ethan. Ethan went back to bed for THREE more hours. I again had another two hour nap. I'm not quite sure I can function any longer without an afternoon nap.
We had a yummy dinner. Ethan ate all of his vegetables, I don't think i've ever seen Ethan eat as much as he ate today. Now we are trying to stay up late because Kelly is due home in an hour. Super excited for his arrival, i'm sure he will be exhausted but it will be a wonderful week. We have nothing planned at all (perhaps some room painting and couch assembling) but hopefully no more nightmares with furniture or anything. I think we are just going to try to relax, not plan anything and have fun!!
I've just been on the internet researching snowsuits. I've looked at all of the regualr kids places (Gymboree, Children's Place Etc). I haven't really been sold on any, I don't find any that cute and they are all quite expensive. So i just went onto the NOrth Face site and found a really nice one for not that much more than the ones from all the local shops. So I think i might order it. I mean we live in the arctic, he needs a good snowsuit!

Bright and Early

I didn't go to sleep until 2 last night, not sure if I was just freaked out (there were loud and annoying people outside) or if I just was addicted to the shows on the food network. Anyways I heard Ethan playing in his crib at 7.... I pulled myself out of bed, but he had stopped making noise so he had gone back to back, so I went downstairs and started cleaning. Ethan was back up at 7:20. So super early. We had planned to go swimming at 10:30 but I knew that it would be way to hard to entertain Ethan for another three hours. So we had breakfast, got dressed and went to the park by the pool. We played there for half and hour then went to the pool early.
Ethan wasn't too sure about the pool, he was shivering and clutching onto me. It took him a good half an hour before we started feeling comfortable.... still never got really into it like Caleb and Nolan did. Ethan just stuck to me and he had a ball to hold onto, which made him happy.
After swimming we headed home for lunch. I cooked Ethan a delicious lunch, not interested at all. I always get frusterated when I actually take the time to make something other than a peanut butter sandwich and he doesn't eat it. Anyways nap time.
We both slept for two hours, it was so wonderful.... of course I got nothing done again but I needed the sleep. We went and met our friend at Tim Hortons for tea and went for a walk. Mostly chasing Ethan but a walk none-the-less.
Right now i'm putting painters tape on every little flaw in our house, we have our two month check on Wednesday. I'm not sure how picky I should be but i've been on my hands and knees. I'm not missing anything.
Tonight is my TV night. Bachelor Pad and haha Dating in the Dark. My night of drama. Possibly may go get a slurpee for the occasion.... maybe....
Ok time for dinner!

A great, relaxing day!

Enjoying the sun, the wind, friends and the sandbox!
Picking Virginia and Richards flowers :)

Caleb and Ethan playing in the sandbox. Ethan sat and dug for like an hour. Seems we need a sandbox.

Playing with Iggle Piggle. He has never watched the show but he LOVES this creepy dude. This was yesterday when we were trapped inside all day. Ethan insisted on wearing his crocs. Had a mental breakdown when I tried to take them off him (Since they are hard to walk in)

Our little handsome man.

Ethan having breakfast, homemade applesause, doing a great job using a spoon. Usually very messy when Ethan feeds himself.

Today was wonderful, it was so relaxing and fun! I was determined to get Ethan out of the house today, after his very long day yesterday so after breakfast we packed up and headed over to the Tri playground for a good run around. It was a perfect time, there was hardly anyone there and Ethan just ran around like a crazy man! He went from one swing to the other wanting to be pushed, up and down all of the obstacles. He was less than pleased when I said it was time to go.
We headed over to Home Depot to look at paint colors. While I was looking Ethan was saying "Hi" to everyone while waving his paint stick. I'm not thinking about doing too much painting but I would like to do both of the boys rooms (and when I say 'I', I clearly mean Kelly). We headed back home for lunch. I made a delicious grilled Cheese sandwich, used up the rest of the yummiest cheese, and Ethan was really not interested in lunch at all. So nap time.
I got Ethan down quickly, and I always feel back when I sleep while Ethan is sleeping because there are so many things I could be doing, but for some reason I was exhausted so I had a VERY good two hour nap today with Ethan.
Feeling refreshed, Ethan and I went to Superstore and bought some 3% milk. Yesterday I realized that I had bought an entire jug of 'Buttermilk' accidently. Ethan did not enjoy the taste of it. Woooops. Then we headed over to see Caleb. Ethan and Caleb had a hoot in Caleb's sandbox. We stayed for dinner and Ethan wolfed back almost an entire piece of post and two helpings of apple crisp. We really don't have a picky eater on our hands. I wonder what the next one will be like?
Yesterday I wrote out my list of Christmas gifts I'm going to have to buy, I love buying Christmas gifts, but i know it usually gets fairly expensive. This is the first year we won't be heading back to the island for Christmas. I am actaully really excited about starting our own family traditions. Cutting down a tree, handing out stockings in our own house and unlike the Westcoast, there is a great chance of having snow for Christmas!

And the Couch Saga Continues....

Let me start with my extremely early morning wake up call. If I haven't complained to you before about this let me explain it to you. The phone number we were given was used for a fax machine before, we get calls ALL day that are just BEEP BEEP, people trying to fax us. I've been in touch with Telus and they have given me a way to block numbers that are trying to fax us (the other option was to change our number after giving it out to everyone). SO i've been trying to block all the numbers that call us, the only problem is that one of the numbers (of course the one that calls most often) is a Telus number, someone try to send a collect fax? I can't delete that one. Telus said they were looking into it. In the mean time two nights ago that number called at 4:43 in the morning and last night the same number called at 3:30. Wakes me out of a dead sleep, BRUTAL.
Anyways so I finally put myself back to sleep, then the white ball of fluffy fur comes slinking in at 5:30 or 6 and pretty much WON'T stop meowing until I get up and feed him. I was ready this morning, I knew he would come (and he doesn't meow when Kelly is around). I had 6 pillows ready to throw at the cat, well I went through them all, scared him for awhile, managed to hold his desperate meows off until 7. Then, time to get up. once i'm up I can't go back to sleep.
Ethan woke up and had breakfast around 8, today we have nothing planned expect that our new couch from Ikea is being delivered. We paid for the delivery this time and the lady at Ikea said it would be sometime between 9am and 6pm that the couch would be delievered. She said I could call in the morning and get a more precise time so I didn't have to wait around all day.
I called this morning and talked to the "Customer Service Representitive". She gave me the moving company's number. I tried calling the number and clearly woke a poor lady up on the first day of the long week. WRONG FREAKING NUMBER. SO I called back and got a very rude male "Customer Service Representitive". He told me he could not give me that information, so I said "Well who can". He put me on hold for a mintue and came back on and said. "I"m sorry we cannot provide you with that information". So I said "So I pretty much have to sit around all day and wait for my couches and they may not come until 6 tonight". His reply "Yes Maam". Hung up on him.
So Ethan and I will spend another day in the house, just waiting and hoping that they show up earlier than later. But let me tell you, I will be inspecting that couch down to every stitch, if there is even but one knick on the wall, the "Customer Service Representitves" will be getting an ear full from me!.
(My other worry is that they will just delivery it to like the front hall and not move it upstairs for me... do you think that will happen?)

The Name Game

Why is it so hard for us to find a name for our baby? It seemed so easy last time, we tried a few names out during the first few months of pregnancy, then my sister suggested Ethan and it just kind of stuck. We were calling Ethan, 'Ethan', from about my fifth month of pregnancy on. This time nothing seems perfect. Kelly and I have a few names in our minds, of course I like plenty of names, Kelly is a little more picky. We have one we both agree but it just doesn't seem like "THE" name. And of course the middle name seems to be an even bigger deal. Oh i just can't decide what to do! At least the last name is easy....although I am still considered putting Quilter in there, i'm just not ready to let that awesome name die.
Anyways in other news, today I surprisingly have nothing to complain or rant about. Perhaps it was because I didn't leave the house too much and Ethan was actaully a well-behaved little child today! I do have one confession, which totally goes against my "Operation Spend Less". I went online in search of a gift for my dad's birthday. I chose a gift, but the website I was one obviously knew me to well, and kept prompting me to spend $39 dollars to receive free shipping, of course I fell into their trap and found a few great things to push my total over the $39 mark. Mission accomplished I think. Gift for my dad, a few things for me AND free shipping. SUCCESS!
Michelle came over for a visit today, we made lunch and after lunch what did two very pregnant people do? Yes that is right we had a nap... we didn't visit, we just slept, and I must say, it was a glorious nap. Ethan was sleeping and we were both exhausted so we took the quiet time and used it to our advantage. LOVE middle of the day naps.... might make it a daily thing.
I rented "The Back Up Plan" (again stearing a little off course with the spending). It was definately a chick flick, kind of ridiculous, but I liked it!
I'm working on a 'construction' themed room for the new baby. So far I have only the bedding and I bought two cute decorative dump trucks, I'm hoping we can paint both the boys rooms on Kelly's next days off, the brown just seems so dull. I need some other inspriation for the room though. Any suggestions?

Oh the Day that was Today

Well we got off on a good start, Ethan woke up happy, ate breakfast and we were on our way. We started at Superstore getting some photos developed. Ethan of course got bored quickly and thought he should probably be a good time to just sit and cry. And so he cried and I ignored....
Next stop the Perc with Maureen and Nolan. I thought I should get Ethan out to play today since we have been carting him around all week (what with the couches and all). When we got there we were the only ones there, by the time we left there was so many people there and lots of bigger kids (it is supposed to be for kids under 5, but i think of these kids were like 4 and 364 days)... So it was a little overwhelming for the little men.
Picked up our pictures, got home and made an early lunch, after lunch and while I was cleaning everything up Ethan decided that he should sip his water then spit it out onto the floor, after saying no over and over and attempting to distracting, nothing was working. Finally he stopped spitting and moved onto opening and epmtying all the cupboards. He would go from one to the next, everytime I said no he would just go open the next one. I got so frusterated that he headed to bed at 12:30. He cried for awhile but then fell asleep.
Maureen came over for a walk, the boys had a good little run around and Virginia and Caleb were at our place when we got back, so they boys played, laughed and cried for awhile. Then dinner rolls around, My tactic for dinner, put the pasta and veggies out first, Ethan ate a little then realized that I was having pasta with toast, well so much for the veggies and pasta, just wanted the bread. Then again while cleaning up, Ethan turned into a trouble maker doing EVERYTHING he knows he's not supposed to... my mind was about to explode, so bedtime.... put him in the bath, got his PJ's on and now he's fluttering around here like a super cute, well behaved boy... WHAT THE HEY!

Anyways, so I'm exhausted, it is only 7:00, last night I vaccuumed and mopped the floors, did a giant clean and now the house looks like crap again.

On a side note, while we were at Superstore I noticed that they have "Expecting Mother's Only" parking.... this is new, I parked RIGHT at the front, then when I was coming out there was a couple just getting in their car IN the "Expecting Mother's ONLY" parking and they were SENIORS, not so senior that they coudln't have walked, very able-bodied seniors. SERIOUSLY, i know it isn't against the law, but it is DISRESPECTFUL, if there was "Seniors" parking and I parked in their spots they would have said something forsure... so I gave them my meanest look and continued on. But seriously, how rude!

Operation Spend Less...

Just took a quick picture today, Ethan looked so handsome with his sweatervest on and spaghetti sause all over his face!

Today Kelly informed me that I need to cut down on my spending.... Is this possible? Well I'm going to say yes, Pretty much I can justify in my head and to Kelly every single thing that I buy, but most of the things I don't REALLLLLLLY need I just REALLLLLLLY want. SO for the next week I intend on purchasing as little as possible. We went and did a huge grcoery shop last week so I should have enough food to keep Ethan and I alive for the next 6 days.
SO no spending money on Food. I have to buy a few things, that are essentials (gifts etc.) ohhh and I also want to get some photos developed. It is so hard to hold back from spending when you have a new house and a baby on the way. I tell ya... But I will give it my best shot. Starting tomorrow today, since today we went to Costco and a few other fun shops. SO as of tomorrow i'm going to be thrify.
I went to my surgeon today to book my C-section. So she has booked me for October 29th. Unless I go into labour before hand our little Baby number 2 (Still un-named) will be born on the 29th. Meaning I will have to miss Ethan's second Halloween. My mom is coming out for awhile to watch Ethan while i'm in the hospital. I think I will have to give her strict instructions on trick-or-treating. I mean he has to get a full bag of candy... Speaking of candy DID you know that CADBURY now makes CREAM EGG CHOCOLATE BARS? It is true, i'm in heaven. I've only indulged on one and since i'm on a strict diet and money budget I can't get more :S
I bought Ethan a potty today, not because i'm going to start potty training but I just want him to start to understand the entire toilet situation. I've put it in the bathroom beside the toilet. He has gone and sat on it a few times and since he freaks out if I leave his sight he comes to the bathroom when I go so tonight after he bath while I was going to the washroom he also sat down, didn't pee but sat. That is all I want at this point....
I'm going to attempt a major house clean tonight, but we will see how distracted I get!
