One more night of help!

There are his eyes! Bright Blue....Still has lots of hair all over him.
Wyatt

Hello in there!! Ethan loves to peek in at Wyatt in the bassinet.

Wyatt enjoying a brisk walk, all cuddled and warm. Not even the chilly air could wake this little guy!

Out for a walk in the park. The playground in the park across the street is almost done and it is awesome. I think we are going to spend a lot of time there!

Enjoying some chips and Salsa with dad.

Wyatt, doing what he does best during the day and not so well at night. Sleeping away.

Operations Slimdown has started in full force! I am crazy about calories, I went for a small, slow walk this afternoon, and hoping to continue the walks, then into runs. I have been google researching. Most people say they started running about 4 weeks after their C-section. Last time I started at 2 weeks, i'm not feeling i'm ready to start running on Friday yet though so i'll stick the the walking. Everyone, nurse etc will tell you six weeks before you do anything, but my doctor gave me the go ahead to being when I feel ready. I know people might think i'm crazy for the calorie counting, but I assure it works like a charm, I was at my lowest weight and best shape of my life right before I got pregnant with Ethan and it was because I was a) calorie counting and b) training for a half marathon. I plan on doing another half marathon in August, this gives me quite a bit of time to train.

Thing are going great at the house (and when I say great I only mean great because we have had lots of company and I have a wonderful family). Sleep wise it has not been great.... far from it. Wyatt had an awesome night two nights ago. Both Kelly and I woke up feeling refreshed and not tierd at all. Wyatt slept ALL day yesterday (I only fed him twice) and that lead to his worst night yet. He fed from 8pm until 1:45. He would eat, i'd put him down, he would sleep for like 20 minutes then wake up hungry again. Got two hours of sleep from about 2 until 4 then he was awake again. And would NOT sleep in the bassinet. I didn't have a nap this afternoon, it was so sunny out and I wanted to get out for a walk. That might have been a mistake.

Tomorrow will be my true parenting test. Kelly leaves at 4:00 for one entire week. I have a full and busy week planned, but i'm not doubting that there will be times when I want to scream. I had to give Ethan three consecutive 'time outs' this afternoon, he has been so spoiled with attention with all the family here. They have let him get away with EVERYTHING. Things will soon be changing.

Ethan has changed so much in the past month, he is talking like a mad man, copies everything we say and just chatters away to himself and everyone all day. It is very sweet. He is also showing some big potty training signs. He tells us when he has pooped AND peed now, we have yet to get a pee in the potty but I think it is coming soon! It is crazy because just two weeks ago I thought Ethan was this teeny tiny little man, boy was I wrong, compared to wyatt, in the change table he is a moose!

Wyatt has been awake for a couple hours today, hopefully that translates into a little bit more sleep tonight.

  1. Hope you are getting more sleep momma. I remember it all too well, and am not ready nor excited for it to return!

Try to keep the house bright and noisy during the day. Wake him to eat every two hours, even if he's asleep - strip him naked and rub him all over to arouse him enough to eat! If you keep it very upbeat during the day, and very quiet and hushed at night, he'll get the point :D
