So Much to Look forward to!

This summer starts now, we have been having such wonderful weather! We were at the River yesterday, followed by a BBQ for dinner. Today the fun doesn't stop we are off for a playdate then to try a new lake. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 29! We are going to the pool then hopefully for a walk or sometime on the grass (much cleaner than sand). Our family has so much to look forward to this summer starting NOW!
-Michelle finally makes her return from Ottawa
-Richard and Virginia's cabin on the lake
-Mila's birthday party
-Claire's graduation in Kamloops
-Michelle's UCB
-We find out the sex of our little baby
-Move into our new house
-Deck, landscaping etc
-Mom comes for two weeks
-Our UC baby appointment
-Ethan and I go for home for two weeks
-time at Boundary Bay (with Kelly)
-Christie and Rich's wedding
-Michelle's baby shower
-Mom and Dad come for a visit
-Autumn and Lochlan come for a visit
-MICHELLE and ATTI'S baby arrives.

Hopefully between all of these we can fit a trip to Calgary in, and perhaps a trip to Jasper.

Now I"d better go, I got up extra early to prepare for the day and so far, i've only gotten me ready!!

Telephone

Here is something you may not know about me. I despise the telephone. It rings at all the wrong times, half the time it is telemarketers trying to trick you into buying something or 'win' something, and really I'm just not good at talking on the phone. Email just works better for. I mean obviously close friends and family I will sit down and enjoy my time on the phone but if it is just to make plans my gosh just email me.

My latest beef, which yes I know, you never know when the kids are sleeping, but when I am babysitting and both kids are FINALLY asleep, and I can FINALLY sit down and relax, that darn phone rings and then it is over, Kids awake me = MAD.

So now I have started turning my phone off while the kids sleep, this works great except that then I miss calls, forget I've turned the ringer off and it is off all night. So I listen to my messages when I realize that the phone has been off, the problem with messages is that I SUCK AT CALLING PEOPLE back, and in all honestly probably won't. Don't take it personally, i just don't have the time to be on the phone when I have little critters running all over the place.

Finally, Please don't call me super early on a Saturday morning. And by Super early that means anytime before nine. This is why I am awake now. The phone rang and woke me up. Ethan is a late sleep. Some might think 'Oh she has a baby she has probably been up for hour'. This is not the truth, the truth is, Ethan sleeps until 9 or later everyday. He is still sleeping now.

That is all I guess.

Zombieland

For the past two nights both Kelly and I have had the hardest time sleeping. Last night I decided to stay up to watch the end of the Biggest Loser. I left the window in the living room open because it was SO hot in our house. Well this was a big mistake. The train went by probably 6 times last night and it seriously felt like the train was coming right through our bedroom, the whole place was shaking and it was SO much louder than usual. I sure hope we are out of here before it gets too too hot.
One of Ethan's toys (which conveniently was left in his room) kept mysteriously going off. It is this weird cow toy, so probably every hour or so it kept "Mooooo, MOOOOO". I woke Ethan up a few times, but he fell asleep fairly quickly after. I didn't want to go in and get it, because if he sees me he will be up for the duration.
So anyway, continue to not sleep, Kelly wakes up at 4:30 to get ready for work, this is right about when the darn cat starts meowing uncontrollably for no particular reason, around 7 the garbage man comes and bangs around with the dumpster, then proceeds to back out of the parking lot, WITH this beeper on.
I continue to pretend to sleep, then apparently there is an emergency in Stony Plain, all of the sirens start going off. Now i was under the understanding that police don't use their sirens when it is super early in the morning. That rule was clearly forgotten.
Anyways the cats meow finally got the best of me and I am awake, but completely exhausted.

Mother's Day

On Saturday night I gave Kelly some 'ground rules' for Mother's Day. They were as follows

1) I will not be left alone with Ethan to watch him. (otherwise this will be like every other day of the week). Kelly thought he would go to the gym, get his hair cut and do a few other things. Well in Kelly time that would have take (not kidding) four hours.

2)Do not ask me what is for dinner

3)I don't want to sit around all day like I do everyday.

So I must say Kelly did one heck of a good job.

Ethan woke up at 8, Kelly nudged me a few times, but i refused to move. So finally Kelly cracked and went and got Ethan. He fed Ethan, and while he did this he made me eggs and pancakes for breakfast. Delicious.

We all played for awhile, then Ethan went for a nap, so i told Kelly he could go out and leave the baby with me, seeing as he was sleeping. Well, Ethan and I both had a two hour nap. Ethan woke up just as Kelly was walking in the door, it was perfect. Kelly had bought me flowers and a card and food for both lunch and dinner.

Kelly had a plan, his plan was to go to Devon and have a picnic on the river. I thought this was a great plan, so he packed everything up in the cooler and off we went. We hooked Ethan's chair up to the table and had a great and relaxing lunch and then went for a walk along the river. It was awesome.

It started pouring on our drive home so we had gone at the perfect time. Again, both Ethan and I had a nap when we got home. At about 5 Kelly started dinner, steak, corn and potatoes. Also delicious. This was right when the hail and torential downpour of rain started. So poor Kelly was bbqing in the rain.

We watched the hockey game, (wahoo they won) then watched the Amazing Race finale (wish the cowboys had won) then went to sleep! I'd say it was perfect. I wouldn't have wanted anything more. We also discussed going on a picnic every Sunday!

Now i have to try to think of something just as great to do for Father's Day in June!!

Sneakers

Well i'm sure not too many people would get as excited as I do about a new pair of shoes for Ethan. I bought him a pair of shoes not too long ago but Ethan quickly learned how to take them off, so it was my goal to find shoes that he could not take off. Success! Yesterday I bought him pair of Robeez shoes and he can't take them off!! Plus they are adorable!
Today we had Nolan for the day, for some reason I'm exhausted, Ethan still cried for no reason (or no apparent reason) it drives me bonkers!
On the plus side, this weekend he took his first step,it was just one step then he went to his knees but I still consider it a step. Today he took THREE steps! I think (and hope) we are on our way to the walking world!
