April 29th

We were SO busy yesterday that it wasn't until this morning that I realized that yesterday was Wyatt's 6 MONTH birthday! WOW, sick months already! I can't believe it, time is flying! Wyatt still seems so young to me. When Ethan was 6 months he just seemed older. Wyatt is just learning to sit up on his own, he is still pretty flopy but he's getting it. He is an all-star eater (I never had any doubts about his eating skills). So far he has loved everything we have given him except carrots, those made him gag! He LOVES mum mums and can polish two off in a matter of minutes! He can roll, but he doesn't do it too often. His sleeping patterns have taken a turn for the worse. I put him down at 7 and he usually wakes up between 12 and 1 and is then up two or three more times till morning. I don't need too much sleep to function so I can handle it.! So HAPPY 1/2 Birthday to my Wyatt!
Yesterday was our first 'meet' for our Little Peanuts COnsignment business. We met down in the South Edmonton Common, everyone who said they were going to come, came and picked up their things. We are using our earnings from 'Little Peanut' to take a trip to somewhere tropical!! (Originally it was just going to be Virginia and I going on this holiday but Kelly and Richard didn't seem to think that was fair so now we will have to save a little bit more money to bring them along). Mom and Dad, please be prepared for a one week holiday with your two beautiful grandsons!
After the meet we did our usual Ikea for lunch. Maureen, Nolan and RIchard met us there. Virginia had a few things to do in the city so I offered to take Caleb. We were heading to Michelle and Cohan's house for a walk. So we utilized the back row of Rhonda for the first time. I looked in the rear-view mirror and could see three children staring back at me. haha it was quite funny. Our plan with Michelle and Cohan was to go for a walk. Of course when we got there all THREE of the kids I had pooped. So before we could leave I had to do a marathon diaper change. After that was finish and I had fed Wyatt I put Caleb and Ethan into the double Bob and strapped Wyatt into the baby bjorn. Michelle said I was quite the sight!! It was one heck of a workout though!
Last night I had an Epicure/Discovery toys party at a friends house. The plan was to leave Ethan with Richard and bring Wyatt. Wyatt fell asleep before we left so Virginia and I left all four children with Ricahrd! It was an AWESOME night! NO kids, exceptional wine, yummy treats good conversations! At 11:20 we thought we'd better get home (Wyatt sometimes wakes up around then). Sure enough when we walked in the door, there was Richard bouncing with Wyatt!! We took off for home.
I'm having a heck of a time keeping the house clean. My goal for the week was to clean the house every night before I went to bed. I had been doing well but when we are busy I usually just crash around, feed the kids, throw the dishes in the sink, the toys are out, there are clothes everywhere, literally the house is a tornado. It is my mission to tackle this tornado this afternoon (crossing my fingers the kids sleep longer than normal!)

Running

The sun is out, it is 16 or 17 degrees, the perfect day for my first 'outside' run. I have been running at the tri throughout the winter. I had done a few 10kms and felt great. I took off strong and it slowly deterioated. It was a death run, my gosh running on the track vs running outside is so very very different. I was huffing and puffing within minutes.

The wind was blowing, the sun beating down on me. Cars were flying by and the road, which looks to be flat, is actually a very slight incline.... keep on running. I'm not one to ever stop and walk, so when I got lost in the maze of walking trails, my 30 minute run quickly jumped to a 50 minute run. On the way home I kept hoping for a red light so I could have a break, but no, as I approached every intersection the "walk' sign lite up and told me to just keep running!

As I was crossing one road I saw a car speeding towards me, clearly the man wasn't paying attention, so instead of sprinting to the otherside of the road, I stopped in the middle of the road, threw my hands up in the air and mouthed "WHAT THE HECK". He slammed on the breaks. Pfft.... that will show you for not paying attention.

Anyways i'm home now and wondering why on earth i'm going to let myself train for another half marathon. I just have to keep reminding myself that running is what makes me lose weight...

We have been busy! My parents arrives on Wednesday. Thursday morning my mom and I took Ethan to his music class! He had a great time this week, he did NOT try to eascape so we were all happy! The weather has been BEAUTIFUL so we have been having lots of fun outside. Kelly and I had out first 'date night' in over two years on Thursday night. We went to the Melting Pot! DELICIOUS!! Came home very full and we both had a great time, hopefully we can do it again within the next two years :)

We had a very relaxing day on Friday, Kelly and I both took a nap while granny watched the kids... pretty sure GRandad also had a nap... Friday night we had a birthday party dinner for Richard at his place. Mom and Dad took the kids home at 8 and we got to stay by ourselves... perhaps my parents should just move in! I"m not totally sure my dad could handle it thought!!

Today was Ethan's birthday party! My mom and I went out this morning and picked up the cake and a few last minute things. The party was a blast... well the kids had fun. Ethan had a wonderful time, he came home and started playing with everyhting he got. He has had a few meltdowns since we got home so granny and Grandad have taken both kids for a walk. Kelly is asleep at on the couch!

Chloe

My parents called last night to tell us that Chloe wasn't doing well. She hadn't eaten in four days. My parents were due to fly out here today, they had arranged a petsitter. My dad took Chloe to the vet this morning and the decision was to have Chloe put down. They weren't going to tell us until they got here, but of course I always need to know what is going on, so I called and they told me. Chloe dog was part of the family, I was pretty upset. I tried to hold it together with my mom on the phone but I had a moment when I hung up.

I remember we got Chloe when I was in grade 10. My dad came and picked me up from a grade 10 dance in the VW rabbit and a little puppy jumped out! Chloe was adroable and very playful. She was a very good companion, she would come and curl up in my bed with me when I was home alone and would always protect me from all the bad guys.(She wasn't a small dog, she took up most of the bed and she snored... not to mention her terrible breath...but she never left me side and I think we were both equally happy to be sleeping beside each other) :). Even when I moved away everytime I came home, there was Chloe, wagging her tail at the door and very excited to see me. Unconditional love! She always remembered me and was so good with the kids!

Thanks for all the love Chloe, we will miss your excitement, we will miss your huge tail wag (That was powerful enough to knock little Ethan over), we will miss your bark (sort of), we will miss your cuddles and Ethan will miss seeing you on Skype!

Rest in Peace Chloe Dog

Poop

This morning while I was changing Wyatt I realized that he hadn't pooped since his 'poopslosion' with Kelly on Saturday (haha Kelly said it was the worst he'd ever seen). I am pretty sure that what I just witnessed was worse.

So I was a little worried because we were heading to Ikea and the last thing I wanted was to deal with a breach while we were out. I knew it would be a big one when it happened. I mean it has been more than five days!

We were gone all morning and returned home around 1:00. Still no poop, phew! Wyatt was being pretty fussy though, but I had kind of forgotten about the whole poop thing and put Wyatt in the jumparoo. Ethan was asleep (well not really but he was in his room). It was really quiet, I was working on something and I looked at Wyatt, he was just staring off into space and making some grunting noises.

(For those of you with a weak stomach I suggest you stop reading)...

I knew with the grunting that it was coming... before I had a chance to take Wyatt out of the jumparoo I hear a 'pop' type sound... Ok that was it? That didn't sound too bad. I take him out of the jumparoo, his legs were warm... not a good sign. We rushed to the change table... Take off his pants... OH DEAR GOD.... THIS was the worst I have EVER in my entire life seen. (just let me remind you that Wyatt has been eating solid foods for two months..just to give you a visual). There was poop from his feet, to his tummy, then since he was flapping around, poop ALL over his arms, on his hands (I tried to wipe it off his hands before htey went in his mouth). The change table was DESTROYED. I stood there for a second to regroup and think of some sort of plan of attack. I ALMOST wanted to take a photo for Kelly because I mean this was epic. But I went to work. Got the bath started and began pulling wipe after wipe out of the container.

After five days inside it was the stinkiest thing ever, and of course we have the change table in our bedroom, perfect.

SO that was the now legendary poop. Wyatt is now bathed, Ethan just woke up, I went into his crib and he had ripped every page out of his book that was in his crib (arrrg.......).

Now I have to deal with the mountains of poop, diapers, wipes and poopy clothes in my room.

I have attached some photos of the boys, just so you remember that they are cute!

This Morning

I didn't sleep a wink last night, for some reason I just couldn't sleep! I was up and out of bed at least five times, Wyatt woke up at 6, I fed him and he fell back to sleep, then I realized that he was soaked so I had to change him, which of course woke up him. But I wasn't having any of that, he went back into his bed with the monitor off. I had a shower and by the time I was done he had fallen back to sleep.

Ethan woke up at 7:30, we did breakfast before Wyatt woke up, we all got ready then we were off to do a few things before out Moving to Music class.

So I'm pretty sure that some sort of switch went off in Ethan's head the second he turned two. He has turned into a TERROR! We got to our class, they usually sing for the first half an hour, do a snack then play with toys. Well Ethan was very much into the singing and instrument playing for the first 15 minutes then he just went went bonkers. Whoever invented lever doors I swear I could hurt you. Ethan took off about five times, I went after him three times and a couple other ladies went twice. He seemed to have settled a little so I sat down to feed Wyatt, of course Ethan must have seen me sit down in the back of his eye. He was outta here. So there i Was sprinting down the hall with my nursing cover, Wyatt underneath. I grabbed the back of Ethan's shirt, he flopped on his butt. By that time I had already threatened to Ethan that we were going to leave if he ran away again. So he ran, I was so flippin angry that I packed up Wyatt, another lady put Ethan's boots and shoes on and we were outta there. I drove home grumpy because I knew this meant I somehow had to keep Ethan occupied until nap time.

I guess I didn't mention that it is a BLIZZARD outside. Just when ALL the snow had nearly melted it snows again. Not just a little snow, apparently 20 cm of snow is expected. The roads are very slippery!

It is 11:13, 1 hour 37 minutes until nap time....

Ethan Turns TWO!

Wow! I just can't believe that my little Ethan turned TWO today! It seems like just yesterday that Kelly and I were racing down the highway (at top speed) heading into the hospital anxiously awaiting Ethan's arrival! The past two years have been the most amazing two years of my life. The very first time I held Ethan i fell instantly in love with this miniature little boy!

Just watching him grow into the boy (and I say boy because he is no longer a baby) he is today has been amazing! Seeing all his 'firsts', listening to him learn his first words, watching him take his first steps and now watching him play and interact with his friends. Words cannot express how much I love this little boy! I keep saying I want him to stay this age forever but the older he gets the more fun he is. He is now able to communicate with words, show emotion (and not just anger). Ethan is a bigger 'hugger'. He will hug everyone in the room before he leaves!

I will be the first to admit that the last two years (although amazing) have also been very tough! It has been quite a learning curve and Ethan I definately butt heads on many issues. Ethan does so many things that really irk me (He gets this from his father), but when all is said and done you have to laugh about it! I am so excited to continue to watch Ethan grow. I'm excited to see what his interests are going to be! I am excited to take him to Disneyland and any other place he may want to go. I'm excited to watch him be a big brother to Wyatt. I'm just excited that I have such a wonderful little guy in my life! *I Love you Ethan!! Love Mom* Moments after Ethan was born! Looking very stylish in his cute hat! (3 Months) BIG smiles at Halloween (6 Months) Ethan's first birthday part (1 Year) This morning on Ethan's 2nd birthday! (sitting in a nice hand-made chair from Grandpa, trying on his fancy new helmet from Aunty Claire and Jake). Opening a present from Great Grandma and Grandad Quilter! (THANK YOU) Checking out a new CD from Matt and Grace. Enjoying a birthday lunch with Cohan, Michelle and Atti! Birthday Cupcake... YUM.... Icing! These cupcakes deserve an applause!

Consignment

It has been SO long, I apologize (for all of you who seem to get ticked when I don't write) :). It has been SO busy! Lets start on Friday! Friday we head out for the airport, 'Grandpa' (Kelly's dad) was flying in at 5:20 and Kelly was flying in at 8:30. So we picked up Greg and headed to Ikea for a cheap and yummy dinner, we still had time to kill so we went to Costco for Groceries, right when we were checking out Wyatt started screaming and didn't stop until we were in the parkade of the airport when I started feeding him. Thankfully Kelly's flight was on time because I had a migraine. I scooted into the airport and grabbed a tea. On the way back to the van I dropped the darn tea. I was livid. We stopped in Devon on the way home.
Saturday was a BIG day. Virginia and I were in the swap meet at the Tri Leisure Centre. It is the biggest children's swap meet in all of Alberta. We were up at 6:30 and headed in to set up. We sold quite a bit of stuff. Virginia ended up making $600 and I made $200. I of course was impatient and had already sold my big ticket items on Kijiji. So after all was said and done (kijiji and the Swap meet) I made probably 500! So i'm happy with that.
THe past two days have been spent working. Virginia and I have started an online consignment buisness. We spend so much money on clothes online that we decided it was time to start one of our own. (Look for us on facebook 'littlepeanut consignment'. So the past two days have been spent going through and taking pictures of all of our clothes and posting them. SO far it has been very exciting, we have already sold quite a few things!!
I will now get into my big rant:
We had planned to have Ethan's birthday party at the library in town. I booked it probably a month ago (or more). On the day of the swap meet Kelly mentioned that they had called to say that they were infact closed on the day the party was booked. I was SO angry, perhaps checking the calendar when I booked was something they should have done. So I trotted up to the computer and emailed all the guests to say that the party was infact going to be at our house (which I wasn't looking forward too, it would be very cramped). ANyways today the manager of the library called and told me that infact they WERE open and that the party was still a go. SERIOUSLY, get it straight guys. I thought they may have offered me some kind of discount but no, so I headed back to the comptuer to annoy my guests with another email to change the location BACK to the library. ARggg....

Anyways it is Ethan's birthday tomorrow so I"m making cupcakes!

Spring has Sprung

Another beautiful day in Sunny Alberta! No jacket needed today, LOVE IT! Mom's morning out this morning, we were up and out the door nice and early. Today we didn't have a speaker, it was a 'sharing' session. I didn't have too much to share but I was happy to have just one child and a large box of timbits to enjoy (courtesy of Virginia!).
We came home for lunch, all was calm, I put Ethan in front of a 'Thomas' movie and Wyatt was sleeping in his carseat. So I thought this would be the perefct time to do a few things i'd been meaning to do. I ordered Wyatt's new carseat (I got an excellent deal... 100 bucks off and free shipping). Next I ordered three months of contacts. Don't even get my started on the complete LACK of money you get for contacts and glass from the extended health services. 200 dollars every two year? REALLY? Three months of contacts costs me 200 bucks and that doesn't include my glasses and visits to the optomitrists. I would argue that sight is a fairly important part of life... but anyways. My final task was to book Kelly's flights home for the summer.
The plan is to drive home, Kelly will fly back to Fort Mac for his shift, then fly back to Comox and then we will drive back the following week. So i'm on hold with airmiles and of course this is when everything falls apart. Ethan gets sick of Thomas, Wyatt wakes up. On hold, taking Wyatt out of his carseat, he's soaked, Ethan strolls by, he stinks. Great... as I am changing two diapers the airmiles representative comes on. Perfect timing. I'm holding Wyatt, ear on the phone, booking flights, making PB and J... Just another day in paradise....
Finally get both kids down for a nap, settle down on the computer chair to check things out online, someway or another we have been hit with an extremely annoying computer virus. Pretty angry, this is my 'me'time! Anyways I end up turning the computer off and vaccuuming. we went for a walk this afternoon, after dinner and kids to bed I head back to the computer.
I called Telus (for a second time). I figure that since the virus got through their security system that they can fix it. So eventually they transfer me to some premium internet service to help me fix it. It costs money but I figure i'd have to take the comptuer in anyways may as well let them do it so I don't need to take everything apart. So I gave them access to my computer, hung up with them and it took them a good two hours to sort everything out!
I watched an awesome episode of Survivor and here I am. So nothing great and exciting happening, just a normal everyday for us!

Giant Puddles

Well if I had time to blog tonight I would but I am WAY too obsessed with what the online consignment stores are posting. So I will just post some photos from our walk to the park this afternoon.

I Need to Get a Life

If you feel like you see my name pop up on facebook every second, or I message, comment or refer you to something repeatedly....it is simply because quite frankly i'm bored. It is Friday night, nothing is on and I have nothing to do but cruise the internet.

After a long day I decided to put the boys to bed at 6:40 (Wyatt) and 6:50 (Ethan). I may regret this in the morning but I felt like I deserved a break and some time away from 'spaz' child (Ethan... well Wyatt too). So I put my trusty (yet very cute) rubber boots on and headed out to the driveway. I chipped away and removed most of the ice from the driveway. I called the city about the lake at the bottom of the driveway but apparently they are quite busy and may not get to it for awhile. After I finished chipping I was very hot so I decided to head down stairs for a workout. Well I decided that I would challenge myself with a week 12 (last week of the bootcamp) TRX lower body workout. By the time I was done I was literally wheezing, sweating and hardly able to walk. I was already incredibly sore from my workout yesterday I'm not expecting to be able to walk tomorrow. All that being said I feel like a million bucks (A million bucks with lots of excess skin... but still a million bucks).

I came upstairs to continue my workout on the crosstrainer. Seeing as Friday is a pretty dull night for TV I had PVR'd a Celine Dion 2 hours special. Now,I don't care what anyone eles says or thinks about Celine Dion. I think she is amazing, she has always been my favorite and I sure do hope she comes back for another concert. Anyways, So I put the Celine Dion special on the TV and really went for it on the crosstrainer! Doesn't get any more motivating than Celine Dion! :)

So I've just had a shower, I have prepared myself a snack, well not a snack, more of a meal. A bowl of Kettle Corn, mounds of strawberries and a bowl of rice pudding drench in cinnammon (I accidently bought rice pudding instead of tapioca pudding.. I have to hide the flavour somehow).

So lets see, what did we do today... Both kids were up at 7:30 (super early but I put them to bed super early). We headed out to the South Edmonton Common for the Consignment store pick up meet. It was beautiful, sunny and warm, it was wonderful. I went a little early and went to the Gap. Gotta love the Gap outlet store, they always have the best deals ever! I didn't go crazy and of course now that i'm on a budget I really have to really love something to get it. After we picked up our consignment stuff we went to Ikea for lunch. I wish I had a ton of money to just buy a whole slew of things but I don't, so I bought nothing. The plan was to go for a walk outside when we got back.

I wasn't expecting to go for a walk so Ethan had his new shoes on, for some bizzare reason I thought the path would be dry, WRONG. Ethan and Caleb splashed in every puddle. Ethan didn't really seem to mind that he had two very wet feet. He really wanted to play on the jungle gym, on his way over there he fell in a giant mud puddle and was a mess, I made the executive decision that we were DONE with the walk. I stripped him down in the van and changed him (luckily I had bought him a pair of jeans and a shirt). His gum boots from last year are too small so that was the next thing on the list, new gum boots.

I rushed home to get his mud clothes in the washer, thankfully they all came out. Ethan didn't really get a nap today so he was freaking out over silly things, during one freak out, he was standing there doing a little freak out dance and crying, Wyatt was laughing like i've never heard him laugh before. It was completely hilarious! We went to Superstore and I completely forgot to buy Ethan diapers, we have ONE, just ONE, diaper left. Going to have to get up early.
