Life as a Musical

I just finished watching Grey's Anatomy. Tonight was their 'musical' night. Took me a few minutes to get into it (well more than a few minutes, when the men started to sing I got a little awkward for them). Anyways it pulled me in and I loved it (that being said if they could just go back to normal Grey's next week that would be great). Just a few days ago I made the suggestion to Kelly that we turn our life into a musical and sing everything we said. He played along for all of ten minutes then just got annoyed with me turning everything into a song. Of course Claire thought I was completely crazy, but come on, how fun would singing everything make life!

We had a really great day today, it was SO warm out, it is beautiful. We woke up and headed off to TickTockTIme in the morning. Ethan was pretty good, but I find they sing just a little too long before they head into play and Ethan had completely lost interested (along with all of the other children). We had lunch and a playdate at Angele and then headed home for a nap. Ethan chose not to sleep this afternoon which was ok because Caleb came over for awhile while Virginia took Ava to the doctor. Wyatt (after a big fight) finally fell asleep for two hours so I got to spend some time with the boys. We did some beautiful Easter crafts. If you are one of the luck ones to recieve one of Ethan's hand-crafted cards you will see some find painting skills!(and sticker-placement skills).

I put the kids to bed at 7 pm sharp and headed downstairs for a TRX workout. I can't say enough good things about my TRX, I had an awesome workout then headed upstairs to go on the crosstrainer for half an hour.

I have a new obsession, recently I have discovered a whole new world of online consignment stores. They are mostly done through facebook and you just say 'please' under the items that you want. All of the consignment stores have 'meets' every two weeks where they all go and line up and you go and pay for you items you have purchased. I am going to my first meet tomorrow. Anyways I am completely obsessed with watching for new things to be posted (because other people just as crazy as me will try to beat me to the stuff). It is making me a little cookey. Either way I really have spent that much money so far, I think my total for tomorrow is less than $30 for some really great things!

Wyatt's cough has returned. Mostly at night, he does the same thing he had been doing before, waking himself up choking and coughing. I give him his puffer that helps open everything up, usually that helps, but we will see how tonight goes I may make him a pediatrician's appointment just to follow up. I'm starting to wonder if infact it is asthma. Perhaps he's allergic to the cold and this nice weather will make him feel better :) Our drain in front of our house is currently clogged, I put my trust rubber boots on today and trudged out there in attempt to un-clog it. I couldn't do anything about it, so we have this GIANT lake-like puddle right outside out house. Ethan is obsessed with it, everytime we drive through it he says 'puddle'.

I guess that is it for me, I have told myself I am going to reply to all of the emails that are just sitting in my inbox with no replys!

A Walk in the Park

So I realize it has been a long time since I have written a blog. We have been quite busy. Aunty Claire came for a visit on her way home from Mexico. Ethan was pretty happy to have her here, and now that she is gone he continues to say "Aunty Claire", hoping she will appear. Of course it was wonderful to have Kelly home as well! Richard was taking Caleb swimming, Kelly really doesn' t like swimming, but we somehow convinced him to go. Even though Kelly doesn't think Ethan had fun, Claire and I were watching from the side and could tell he was happy to be there.
Lounging in the hot tub. (just the shallow part), but it was fun watching both kids attempt to get into the deep waters of the hottub!
Wyatt hung out with Claire and I on the side of the pool.
'Lift-the-flap' shirt, all the way from Mexico, Ethan showing two sets of teeth.
Of course GRandad Q couldn't go to Mexico without bringing home soccer outfits for the boys.

Our kids will never be short of soccer outfits!
Ava and Wyatt hanging out.

Ava makes her move...

Wyatt petting Ava's head, clearly she is not happy about it.
Ava and Wyatt in their cute little stroller blankets and strollers, finally warm enough to go for a walk!
Caleb and Ethan. They have the same little rain suit. So cute!
Ethan riding the motorcycle!

Watching their brothers play.
Down the slide!
Time to go home... best buddies stomping the puddles.

An Update

Check out my gums!
'hmmm... how does this whole potty thing work?'

The ONLY one of the three of us

Big eyes Wyatt!

Playing hard with this trains... I spy Wyatt on the floor in the background :)

Well it has been a long 10 days, my parents and my sister are in Mexico enjoying the beautiful sun, hot temperatures, delicious drinks and the beach while we shovel our driveways, put on our mitts and toques here in Alberta. I didn't really think my parents and sister being in Mexico would really affect me (well besides the whole jealousy thing) but I have realized how much I MISS them. I usually talk to my mom about four times a day on the phone, I call her all the time for no particular reason and if she isn't home I usually call my sister, if she isn't home I call my Dad at work. Ethan also really loves to call them. We usually do a daily skype date with both of them as well. Tonight Ethan sat himself down on the chair in front of the computer and said "Gran", so I told him she was in Mexico so he said "Aunty Claire", I again told him she was also in Mexico, so he picked up the phone and said "GranGrad". He finally settled for watching some Sesame Street. Anyways I'm missing them!

So lets see, an update on our little family.

Fabian
Well he is back to his old tricks. He now weighs almost 12 pounds (up fron 7.5 pounds during his bad teeth days a couple months ago). I'd say he eats four tins of food a day. This is a lot, but i'd rather feed him that listen to him meow and run under my feet almost tripping me. He is still very picky, I bought him the "Special Kitty" (Superstore)brand in attempts to save some money, he refused to eat it, the only way I could make him eat it was to lock him in the bathroom all day. SO we have gone back to the more expensive brand. For some reason the lack of teeth means he can't eat well, there is wet food all over the floor. Since he eats so much food I find the best tactic for cleaning is to wait until it drys then vaccuum it up (gross I know). Anyways so Fabian has recovered and is doing well.

Wyatt
Wyatt is like a whole new baby and a VERY Happy Baby. He is very awake and alert all day! He is happy wherever he is put, I can put him on the ground with toys and he will just roll around and make noises, he will sit in the Bumbo, he will sit in the bouncy chair. His favorite is the jumparoo, he is a jumper. Wyatt's favorite time of day is when we are changing his diaper or getting him dressed. HE giggles like crazy, is is absoletly adorable! His sleeping has also improved tremedously. This afternoon both of the boys slept and I got a good hour nap! I put Wyatt to sleep at 7pm and he usually goes until around 5:30am and then I usually have to wake him at 8:30am so that is fantastic. Wyatt is also so much in love with his brother. He is always craning his neck to watch Ethan play!

Ethan
Ethan has had a tough week. He had a fever two nights in a row and was always putting his hands on his ears. He has been having major crying spells (usually after nap until bed time). He just walks around crying and crying (and I have yet to make him happy, I do try though). He walks around crying, then says 'HUG", so I give him a hug, then he crys again, then "HUG". It is pretty cute, anyways so I took him to the doctor just to see if he had an ear infection, he was hysterical at the doctors office, people must have looked at me like "Control your child" (like I used to do before I had children)..... Anyways the doctor said his ears were red but nothing toooo concerning. Ethan, of course stopped crying immediately after the doctor left and then said "Buh-Bye" to everyone in the waiting room. So I have been watching him and I think he is jealous of Wyatt, he doesn't like me to pick Wyatt up and when I do he wants to be picked up as well, when i'm feeding Wyatt he gets upset. So i'm hoping that I can spend some one on one time with Ethan while Kelly and Claire are here. We had Mom's Morning Out this morning, I put Ethan's indoor shoes on and gave him his waterbottle and he just took off to the daycare, didn't wait for me or anything, I went in there and he was just sitting on the carpet playing with a car. This is a major change from two months ago when he would scream and cling to my leg when I tried to leave. So i'm pretty impressed with my little guy! I am pretty excited, we just got tickets for "Sesame Street Live" at Rexall Place. The pictures look amazing, I think Ethan is going to LOVE it. His whole face just lights up when he sees any of the 'Monsters' as he calls them from Sesame Street. I can't believe how verbal Ethan is getting, it is quite fun going places with him, in the car or grocery shopping Ethan points out everything he sees, he says things I didn't even know he knew! I wish I could just videotape all of our adventures!

Anyways that is all, there are a million things on TV tonight that I need to get watching!

Bunnies

When I woke up this morning it was a blizzard, not the nicest weather for the first day of spring. Ethan was standing at the door saying "GO" so I figured we needed to leave the house. We headed to the dollar store to buy some Easter crafts. We were the only ones there which was great because those mini little carts don't fit both of my kids. Ethan had a grand old time running around destroying the place (don't worry I picked up after him).

We came home and Ethan worked on his crafts for a good hour and a half. I was really impressed. Both my boys slept all afternoon, but when Ethan woke up he was in a FOUL mood. He went around whineing/crying from 3:30 until 6:50 when I finally put him to bed. He would cry cry cry, then say 'HUG', then cry cry cry then 'HUG'. It was so completely annoying mixed with so incredibly cute. He has had a fever for the last couple days, On Friday night he was up every hour (this of course the night Wyatt slept from 7pm until 6am). So if it is not one it is the other. I think he may have an ear infection, he is always putting his hands over his ears, so I'm going to try to get him into the doctor tomorrow.

I re-posted my baby swing today on kijiji, man-oh-man there are definately some crazy people out there. I'm selling it for $30 which I think is a pretty good deal for a swing. Anyways this lady emailed and offered me $20. (I don't think it is right to try to get more money off when it is already reasonably priced). ANyways I emailed her back and said "No I am firm at $30, sorry". Then she emailed me back and said "ok $30 is fine, can you deliever it to MILLWOODS". Sorry lady, i'm not going to deliver a $30 swing to MILLWOODS for you. So before I had a chance to email her back she sent another message say "So its a go, see you at the Millwoods Town Centre, text me (her number)". I replied "I am not willing to drive to Millwoods". Then she replied "I am having a delicate pregnancy and don't have a car, I will try to get a ride, what is your address". THen she sent another email saying she is sorry for sounding crazy but she really wanted this swing, THEN she got her husband to send me an email asking for my address. It was at this point that I stopped replying. NO SWING for you. I have arranged to me a very friendly lady at Tim Horton's tomorrow morning though. The nerve of some people, sure why don't I just deliever the swing to Calgary for you, no problem. Sorry you are having a delicate pregnancy, it is snowing and I have two kids, don't want to be driving all over the city. Anyways, that is my rant for the day.

I was very excited to head to the big green chair after I put the kids to bed and took the garbage out to watch 'The Amazing Race'. Turned on the TV, not working. Wait time at Telus....49 minutes. I mean they did have good hold music playing but still that is kind of excessive. Finally sorted out the issues and i'm back in action!

We did a photoshoot this afternoon, here are our pictures. I wonder how long the kids will let me take billions of pictures at a time of them. Ethan is already sick of it I think. I have also learned that it is pretty much impossible to get a good picture of both boys at the same time and I can never get ANY good pictures of Ethan.

St Patrick's Day

The start of our St. Patrick's Day photoshoot... Ethan not impressed, Wyatt not interested.
Another attempt..

Beginning to wonder why I even attempt these photos....

A little frightened of my 'crazy' eye!

I think this might just be the best shot.

Yup these are my boys.

TOTALLY lost interest.

I pretend this is a hug/loving moment, in reality Ethan was trying to push Wyatt off of him.

We had our pediatrician's appointment on Tuesday, Tuesday night was Wyatt's worst night to date. I was so flipping angry. I was storming around, not trusting any doctor, exhausted and totally terrified everytime Wyatt would wake up because he was having trouble breathing. Wednesday morning Wyatt and I were exhausted but that was nothing a XL steeped tea couldn't fix. Wyatt coughs much less during the day and seemed to be doing a little better so we headed off to 'Mom's Morning Out'. The Crock-a-Doodle lady came (paint-pots), Wyatt layed on the floor with Ava and it was really fun and relaxing to just chill out and paint. I made a 'Cookies for Santa' plate.

We had to head into the city after to pick up Rhonda (the Honda). She was in getting some sort of rock sheild put on the front. We had a fully loaded 2010 Honda Accord for a courtesy car. I wasn't impressed. I sat so low to the ground, I felt like I was driving a nascar. And Wyatt's carseat really didn't fit well in it. Anyways I can't believe how much I missed the Van in only a short day. We stopped for a visit with Aunty Michelle and Cohan and then headed home.

While Ethan and I were eating dinner, Wyatt had a scary cough, not-breathing moment. I paniced and just ran over and grabbed him. I didn't have a clue what I cold do, so I just rubbed his back. He seemed to get over it quite quickly and went back to his normal self. It totally freaked me out and I didn't really know what to do (Do I go to the emergency or not). I decided to not go, Wyatt was in my arms smiling, i'm sure I wouldn't be taken seriously. So I decided that if it happened again I would call my pediatrician (they have a doctor on call all the time). Thankfully things have gotten better. Wyatt only woke up twice last night, We are still taking both inhalers, tomorrow will be the last day for one of them. If Wyatt is still coughing I plan on taking him back to the pediatrician and/or try to get another opinion from another pediatrician.

This morning we woke up and headed out to 'Tick, Tock Time'. This is a drop in singing/play class. Ethan is so musical. Dancing and singing are really his thing. Anyways he really wasn't too interested in the singing part today but had a great time playing. When I woke up this morning it was SNOWING. I was pretty annoyed, the weather has been getting warmer and I was really hoping it would melt the snow. But by this afternoon it had stopped snowing and the mountains of snow are melting nicely. We went for a short walk, Ethan wasn't in the mood to do much of anything so we just made dinner, Ethan asked to go to sleep at 6:50 (i'm not going to argue with that). So I brushed his teeth and put him to sleep, he fell asleep instantly. So I figured if Ethan was asleep I may as well put Wyatt to sleep, so both kids were sleeping by 7!!

There is something about the big green chair that we have in front of the TV, the second I sit down my motivation to do ANYTHING just goes out the window (and not anything, I still have plenty of motivation to run downstairs and make some kettle corn).

Tomorrow we are going to another drop-in play class then heading to the South to go to the Gap. I have only two pairs of jeans (both maternity jeans). I was hoping I could wear my maternity jeans until my muffin top dissappeared, but my jeans have thought otherwise. There are two GIANT holes in them, so tomorrow I will purchase myself a pair of real jeans. Workouts have been few an far between these days, i'm just so exhasuted, but I loved the walk we went on today so if the nice weather keeps up, hopefully I can get some more exercise!
