Belly Be Gone

Heading out for a run. Kelly wasn't as excited about the run as I was.

Look at that face! So happy to be 'home' and at the beach!

Making Wyatt a 'First Christmas Ornament'. He did not appreciate this.

This morning we woke up, made breakfast then headed out. One of my favorite things to do in Courtenay is walk around on fifth street. I love all the local shops, all the decorations and all the people! I had Wyatt in the baby bjorn and Ethan, we decided would walk (The double stroller wouldn't fit in any of the shops). Wyatt fell asleep instantly and Ethan did pretty well. Kelly only had to carry him on the way home. I went and got my bubble tea from the tea store, bought a little gift for Wyatt and Kelly bought a shirt. I had the most swollen and itchy hands EVER and three people mentioned to me that itchy palms meant I was going to recieve money. So I bought a scratch and win. No Money.

When we got back from our trip downtown my mom was home from work, we made lunch, Ethan headed for a nap and Kelly and I headed out on a RUN... that's right a RUN. My first since the baby (and my first in like a year really).

We only had a limited amount of time (Wyatt doesn't have much of a eating schedule). So we drove to some trails not too far from my parents house. It was a nice day out, no rain, still the trails were a little muddy. As I was getting dressed for the run I realized that I had brought two different runners, one that was just a little bit too small... Oh well what is a teeny tiny blister.

We took off at a blistering pace (probably about one mile per hour, or a snails pace). My legs weren't really used to this thing called 'exercise' but I pushed on with my belly flapping in the wind. We ran for 45 minutes, up and down a few hills, stopped and did some lunges. By the end my legs were burning and my body wasn't too happy with me. I felt really great though. Kind of forgot how much I actaully enjoy physical activity. So I guess I can chalk this up as DAY 1 of marathon training :) We are planning to go again tomorrow morning.

When we got home Ethan was awake and Wyatt was sitting contently in his chair, My mom did well! Kelly and I both showered and we headed off to the ocean. Kelly was pretty stoked to see the water. I was angry with myself, I was going to bring Wyatt's warm fleece suit but I forgot, so instead of a walk, Wyatt stayed in his carseat while Kelly and Ethan threw rocks into the water. I think Kelly got his ocean fix though.

Kelly has been trying to convince me to move back to the island ever since we moved out to Alberta. I'm not too interested, I like my new house and I like my friends and routine in Alberta so i'm very happy just to stay. However, Kelly is very determined. SO today I told him that if he bought me a new house, with a new Acadia (I've moved on from the Pathfinder to the Acadia) and a new wardrobe, that I would move back to the Valley. So on the way home we took a tour of an area for our possibly future house. There were some pretty nice ones, i must admit. We'll see how he does with my wish list.

We came home for dinner and now we are off to Danika's to watch Grey's and Private Practice! Wahoo! (Danika I swear we are on our way)!
