Sleeping Superstar, Bad Timing

The stockings were hung!
The best picture we could get of the two boys in their matching Pajamas.

Granny reading to Ethan and Wyatt.

Ethan enjoying some snacks on his lion. He LOVES this lion.

Wyatt's new cowboy outfit, boots included!

Playing so nicely with the playdoh.

Last night Wyatt slept from 11:30 until 4:15 and then from 4:30 until 9:15. Amazingly Awesome!!!..... oh wait, except for one thing.... I was AWAKE while Wyatt slept his longest consecutive sleep ever! Why was I awake you might ask? Well we were in the emergency room in Stony Plain.

Wyatt has had a cough for the last week, the past three days it has been getting so bad that he would start choking by the end of it and it looked quite painful. So as usual I googled it, the general consenus was to bring him in, I then called the Newborn hotline, the nurse of course suggested that I go in, so I was just thinking I would make an appointment with my doctor, but the nurse on the hotline seemed to think we needed to go in within the next four hours.
SO we (Dad) decided we would go in after the Survivor reunion show. Of course we watched the late version of this so we didn't get to the hospital until 12:15. It was PACKED.... We actually got in quite quickly, we got to by pass a few people because I guess Wyatt took priority. The doctor came in and did a few checks (of which Wyatt slept through the entire thing). He sent us for an X-ray and did a few other tests. X-raying a newborn has got to be the worst experience ever. They kind of clamp them between these two plastic panels. I will admit that Wyatt did wake up for this process, screaming, but he went right back to sleep once we got back to our 'room'.
We waited for HOURS for the results, the ER was super busy and there was only one doctor. Wyatt slept the entire time, Dad sat beside me in the chair going in and out of sleeping with his mouth wide open and snoring. I would kick him everytime he started to snore. There was another sick child in there, a little boys name was 'Jacobi' which I thought was cute and interesting name. Anyways he was really sick so I stayed clear from them, but really the entire hosptial is a disgusting germ infested dump. I felt gross just sitting in there. And everything that went near that hospital will now be disinfected and washed. The guy beside us was groaning uncontrollably because he was having bladder spasams, Jacobi was crying and coughing and there was a lady ou in the hall, obvioulsy drunk or on drugs screaming for the lord to help her.
I just sat there and stared at Wyatt sleeping away, thinking that perhaps we should just get up and go, Wyatt seemed fine and we were there forever. Dad was getting pretty anxious to leave too, but I decided that we'd better stay at wait for the results, otherwise we might get more worried as the days go on and would have to go back.
The doctor looked like he was about 12, wearing skate shoes and a lululmenon hoodie, but he was actaully quite good. I kept peeking my head out to make sure we hadn't been forgotten about. Dad decided at 3:45 that he would go get me a Tim Horton's. Pretty much two seconds after Dad left the doctor came in with half of the results. The X-ray had shown something in his lungs (And he said it in medical terms... kind of went over my head, so I'm going with something). SO he gave us a perscription for antibiotics, gave Wyatt his first dose and sent us on our way. He said the results of the nose swab (the nurse jabbed a big q-tip up his nose... he didn't wake up) were going to take a couple days and the results would be sent to my doctor.
I really didn't think they were going to find anything, I just assumed he had a bad cough, so I am really glad we waited it out and now have a persciption to make this brutal cough go away... hopefully.
