Fabian

This may or may not have been what caused my mirgraine the other night. We sent Kelly and Richard out to buy wine, this is what they came home with. Very cute!
The temperature after it warmed up five degrees.... brrrr.... And today it is 5 degrees....

Kelly doing something to make Wyatt smile!

Hanging out with Dad!

How many chins can you count?

Ethan somehow managed to take his entire tray off the highchair and throw it on the ground. Kelly was furious, Ethan could tell he was in trouble. I couldn't help but laugh.... Kelly was storming around, Ethan was still making a mess, Wyatt was crying.... just a glimpse Kelly of our day-to-day.

So it would seem that it is time to make some big decisions regarding Fabian. Fabian has had bad teeth since we got him at the SPCA. He went from eating hard food, to soft canned food, to now eating the cans of food blended in the food processor with water. Even after the food has been blended (since I clearly have lots of time in the morning to blend up the cat food then wash the food processor) Fabian still has major freakouts after eating. Once something hits his tooth or he feels pain he does a two food jump, streaks up the stairs and starts honking. Although quite humerous to watch (the after food freak outs)it is very apparent that Fabian is in a lot of pain. I have been telling Kelly for months that we need to bring Fabian to the vet. Kelly of course will do nothing of the sort, in the past two years he has spent about $1200 on the cat at the vet.
Yesterday I got Kelly just to call and see how much it would be to have one tooth extracted. (We read on the internet that if we get the irritated tooth pulled the cat will most likely go back to being normal). So he talked to the vet, the vet said it could be anywhere from $400 - $2000 depending on how many teeth need to be pulled. He would have to go in for a consultation for them to have a look at his teeth. (This consultation costs $50). So I let Kelly stew over if for a couple hours. You could tell he really didn't know what to do. Kelly puts on a big show about how much he hates Fabian, but last year when Fabian was pooping blood (sorry) Kelly was the first to throw the cat in the car and take him to the vet emergency room. (On a Sunday... then you have to pay like triple the price).
SO I have made an appointment for a consultation for tomorrow morning. I will certainly be a sight to see showing up at the vet with a Cat in the box, a Baby in the bucket and Ethan. I think we should just see what they say, perhaps it will just be one tooth that needs to come out, in which case we will just go ahead and do that. If infact there are many more teeth that need to be pulled we will have to make some tough decisions. DO we spend the money or do we have him put down. I of course am horrified at the idea of having him put down, he is part of our family, and as much as I complain about him I really do love him and he is a great companion.
So I guess we will have to see what they say tomorrow.....
